阿重工業 (Ah Chong Heavy Industries): AT-AT Machine 01 阿重建機 01號機 — Final Build

Final Record — 阿重建機 01號機

This is the final state of AT-AT Machine 01 / 阿重建機 01號機.

This project started as a simple question — what happens if the AT-AT is no longer a military machine, but something that exists in a construction or industrial environment.

From Part 1 (concept notes), to Part 2 (selected WIP steps), this build has been developed step by step with a consistent direction. This post is the final record of that process.

AT-AT Machine 01 / 阿重建機 01號機 — Project Overview

Overall Direction

The goal was never to redesign the AT-AT completely, but to shift its identity.

Instead of a battlefield machine, it becomes:

  • a working machine
  • maintained over time
  • exposed to environment and usage

The yellow construction tone defines the role, while the weathering defines how it has been used.

Surface Treatment

Weathering across the body follows a controlled approach. Not all areas are treated equally.

  • maintenance zones → heavier grime and wear
  • outer panels → lighter aging and discoloration
  • edges and access points → controlled chipping

The intention is to make the machine look used, but still in service.

Engine and Rear Section

The rear section is treated as a working zone — cooling, engine access, and maintenance.

Instead of heavy oil effects, the finish is kept more dry:

  • soot and heat staining
  • dust buildup
  • touch-point wear

This keeps the machine consistent with the idea that it is still actively used.

Legs and Footing

The legs follow a simple aging logic:

  • heavier toward the foot
  • lighter toward the upper sections

The foot surface uses a slightly chalky, oxidised finish, so it reads closer to aged cast material rather than painted plastic.

No mud effects were added. The surface remains dry, consistent with the overall environment direction.

Balance

If there is one key point for this build, it is balance.

  • not too clean
  • not over-damaged
  • still readable as a functional machine

This applies to:

  • color
  • weathering
  • markings

Ah Chong Heavy Industries — Machine 01

In the Ah Chong Heavy Industries system, this is:

阿重建機 01號機 — completed.

This project is not only about one model. It establishes a direction that can be continued and expanded.

Closing Note

This is the end of the build phase for Machine 01.

From concept, to execution, to final result — the process is now complete.

Next, the focus will shift to how this system develops further.
