DeAgostini Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86 1/8 Scale Series — Purchase Guide by DeToyz

The DeAgostini Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86 1/8 scale build series has started in Malaysia, and DeToyz is helping local and overseas builders arrange the series issue by issue.

This is a long-term 110-issue build project, so our focus is not only on supplying the issues, but also on helping builders understand the payment arrangement, collection flow, and international shipping plan clearly before they begin.

For overseas builders, we can also arrange batch shipping on a case-by-case basis. We have now arranged our first direct international AE86 batch shipment to France via DHL Express, with the shipping fee confirmed based on the actual packed parcel size before dispatch.

Our Track Record with Long-Term Build Projects

This isn’t our first big-scale build series project.

We’ve successfully delivered every issue of the DeAgostini 1/43 Millennium Falcon and Eaglemoss 1/8 DeLorean to customers who joined these long-term build series through DeToyz, without a single missed issue.

Each project strengthened our belief — builders deserve dependable service and peace of mind when collecting large-scale kits.

How This AE86 Build Project Works

  • This is a long-term build project delivered in numbered issues
  • Each issue includes specific parts and an illustrated Japanese magazine
  • Issues are arranged sequentially through DeToyz
  • We coordinate ordering, arrival, and collection on your behalf
  • Participation remains flexible with advance notice
  • For overseas builders, issues can be accumulated and shipped in suitable batches to make international delivery more manageable.

This arrangement is especially suitable for collectors who want a dependable channel for a large-scale project without managing multiple sources.

AE86 Series Purchase Details (DeToyz Edition):

Issue-by-Issue Purchase Details

  • Issue 1: RM19.90
  • Issue 2–110: RM59.90 per issue
  • Upfront payment: Last 4 issues (Issues 107–110)
  • Flexible participation: you may pause or stop future issues by informing us at least 7 days before the next scheduled release.
  • If participation is stopped, any upfront payment made for the final issues will be used to supply the subsequent issues in sequence. For example, if you stop at Issue 10 after collecting up to Issue 9, the remaining upfront payment will be applied to supply Issue 10, 11, 12, and 13 accordingly.
  • This ensures that any payment made is fully converted into supplied issues.

For international customers: payment and shipping may be arranged in batches. Shipping is quoted separately based on the actual packed parcel size, and customs duties, import taxes, VAT, or courier handling fees may apply depending on the destination country.

Each issue includes parts and a Japanese-language magazine (richly illustrated). The complete model is built across 110 issues.

For Overseas Builders

Overseas builders are welcome to contact us before starting the AE86 series purchase arrangement. Since the AE86 is a long 110-issue project, international orders need to be planned carefully, especially when it comes to payment, shipping batch size, and delivery cost.

Some overseas customers may use a Malaysia delivery address, while others may arrange direct international shipping with us on a case-by-case basis.

International Batch Shipping for Overseas AE86 Builders

For overseas customers, the AE86 series can be arranged in batches instead of shipping everything at once.

The full AE86 project consists of 110 issues, so sending the complete series in one shipment would create a very large parcel and may result in a high international shipping cost. For this reason, batch shipping is usually a more practical way to manage the project.

We recently arranged our first AE86 international batch shipment to France using DHL Express. The first parcel included Issues 1–12, and the shipping fee was confirmed only after the actual packed parcel size was checked.

For international customers, the usual arrangement is:

  • A deposit equivalent to the last 4 issues is collected to secure the full set.
  • Issues are paid progressively in batches.
  • Shipment is arranged when the paid quantity reaches a suitable batch size.
  • Shipping is quoted based on the actual packed parcel size.
  • DHL Express is used for international delivery.
  • Customs duties, import taxes, VAT, or courier handling fees may apply depending on the destination country and will be handled by the customer when the parcel arrives.

This allows overseas builders to start the AE86 project step by step, while keeping payment and shipping more manageable throughout the full 110-issue series.

If you are based outside Malaysia and would like to start the AE86 project, please contact us first. We can explain the batch plan, deposit, payment, and shipping arrangement before you decide.

Example: AE86 Batch Shipment to France

We have arranged an AE86 international batch shipment to France via DHL Express. The first parcel included Issues 1–12, and the shipping fee was confirmed based on the actual packed parcel size.

This is why we recommend batch shipping for overseas builders — it keeps the process clearer, more manageable, and easier to plan.

We have also documented our first direct AE86 batch shipment to France in DeToyz Notes, including how the arrangement started, how the first parcel was prepared, and what the customer experienced after receiving it.

From Ah Chong

This AE86 project really excites me. It’s not just about the car — it’s about the craftsmanship and nostalgia that comes with building something iconic piece by piece.

After the success of the Millennium Falcon and DeLorean projects, I’m confident we can support this AE86 series carefully for both Malaysia builders and overseas collectors who want a clear, dependable way to follow the project.

For international builders, I understand that trust, communication, shipping cost, and continuity matter even more. That’s why we handle this series step by step, with clear payment records and shipping confirmation before each batch is sent.
