Overview

HG 1/144 CB-0000G/C Reborns Gundam is a High Grade Gunpla model kit of Ribbons Almark’s personal mobile suit from the final battle of Mobile Suit Gundam 00.

Powered by two GN Drive Tau units through a Twin Drive System, Reborns Gundam was created by combining technology accumulated by the Innovades with data obtained from Celestial Being. The result is a high-performance machine capable of handling close, medium and long-range combat.

Its defining feature is the ability to change between the mobile Gundam Mode and artillery-focused Reborns Cannon Mode. The kit can also reproduce the Gundam Mode flight configuration, giving builders several substantially different display options from one model.

DeToyz Note

Reborns Gundam remains one of the most unusual final-antagonist designs in the Gundam series because it does not simply transform into a vehicle. Instead, the back of the mobile suit becomes a second humanoid-style combat form.

Gundam Mode has the more familiar close-combat silhouette, with the GN Buster Rifle, shield and Large GN Beam Sabers. Turning it into Reborns Cannon changes the character of the model completely, bringing the four Large GN Fin Fangs forward as adjustable artillery cannons.

The GN Shield adds another useful display feature. Sliding its side sections open recreates the small-fang launch configuration, while the Large GN Fin Fangs can be removed from the model for deployed weapon scenes.

The engineering comes from the 2009 HG Gundam 00 period, so it is not as flexible as a newly designed modern High Grade kit. Its strength is the number of forms and weapon configurations rather than extreme articulation.

For a Gundam 00 collection, Reborns Gundam is especially important when displayed opposite 00 Raiser. The red-and-white design, four large Fin Fangs and double-sided transformation give it enough visual presence to work as either a final-battle opponent or a standalone shelf piece.
