Overview

HG 1/144 Messer Type-M01 (Gawman Use) recreates Gawman Nobile’s replacement mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe.

Known as the Type-M, the Messer Type-M01 was manufactured on a different production line from the Messer Type-F used by Mafty’s main force. Its exterior design differs significantly from the Type-F, while its internal structure and basic specifications follow the same standards.

Gawman’s machine has a particularly distinctive left shoulder. The unit was deployed before the shoulder armor could be fully painted, leaving the base color exposed. This visual detail is reproduced in the kit and helps distinguish it from other Messer variants.

DeToyz Note

Messer Type-M01 has a more angular and severe appearance than the earlier Type-F design. The long skirt armor, smaller head, shoulder spikes, and heavy legs give it a grounded military presence that fits the visual style of Gundam Hathaway.

The unfinished left shoulder is also an interesting detail because it tells part of the machine’s story. It reflects the urgency of Mafty’s operations and makes Gawman’s unit easy to recognize without relying on a completely different color scheme.

A clean straight build should already look strong because of the proportions and color separation. Builders who add panel lining, a little metallic detail around the joints, and restrained weathering can push the design further without losing its practical military feel.
