Overview

HGUC 1/144 RX-79[G]Ez-8 Gundam Ez8 recreates Shiro Amada’s field-modified mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team.

After Shiro’s Gundam Ground Type was heavily damaged during the battle against the Apsaras II, the machine was rebuilt using available spare and locally sourced components. The resulting Gundam Ez8 features a distinctive armoured head without the traditional Gundam V-fin, reinforced chest armour and an off-white ground-combat colour scheme.

This HGUC release combines Ez8’s rugged military appearance with practical ground-combat equipment. It includes a Beam Rifle, 100mm Machine Gun, improved short shield, two Beam Sabers and a removable Parachute Pack for recreating airborne deployment operations.

The backpack can also accept the weapon container from the separately sold HGUC Gundam Ground Type, giving builders additional equipment and display options for an 08th MS Team collection.

• The removable Parachute Pack is included.

• The 180mm Cannon, Rocket Launcher and other Gundam Ground Type weapons are not included.

• The Parachute Pack straps use flexible belt material that must be carefully positioned and secured during assembly.

• A 1/144 Shiro Amada figure is not included with this HGUC release.

• Some small colour details are reproduced with foil stickers.

• Unit-number and shield markings are supplied as marking stickers.

• Water-slide decals are not included.

• The kit was originally engineered in 2013, so some joints and colour separation differ from more recent High Grade releases.

• A display base is not included.

• An Action Base is sold separately and may be useful for airborne deployment poses.

Gundam Ez8 stands apart from more traditional Gundam designs because it looks like a machine rebuilt to survive rather than a polished prototype. The reinforced chest, armoured head and off-white exterior give it a practical, field-repaired appearance that fits the grounded military tone of The 08th MS Team.

The included Parachute Pack is the strongest extra in this package. It changes the silhouette considerably and supports airborne deployment scenes that cannot be recreated with the standard Gundam Ground Type equipment alone. Builders who own the compatible HGUC Gundam Ground Type can also swap in its weapon container for a heavier ground-operation configuration.

The Beam Rifle, 100mm Machine Gun and short shield provide good options for patrol and combat poses, while the leg-stored Beam Sabers recreate one of the Ground Gundam family’s most recognisable equipment features.

This is also an excellent weathering project. Dust, mud, chipped paint and subtle armour staining suit Ez8 naturally. For a complete display, pair it with HGUC Gundam Ground Type, GM Ground Type and Gouf Custom to recreate the central conflict of The 08th MS Team.
