Overview

RG 1/144 ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam brings Shinn Asuka’s signature mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY into the Real Grade lineup with detailed armor separation, an articulated internal frame, and a broad selection of close- and long-range equipment.

The Advanced MS Joint frame supports dynamic airborne and combat poses associated with the SEED series. Its layered exterior armor and included Realistic Decals add mechanical detail and tonal variation beyond a standard High Grade build.

Destiny Gundam’s large backpack wings, Arondight Beam Sword, High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannon, Beam Rifle, Shield, Beam Boomerangs, and Beam Shield allow builders to recreate several of the mobile suit’s most recognizable battle configurations.

Things to Note

• This is a plastic model kit and requires assembly.

• The large backpack, sword, and cannon add weight to the completed model, so careful balancing may be required.
• An Action Base is sold separately and is recommended for airborne or dynamic combat poses.
• The Wings of Light expansion effect unit is not included with this standard release and is sold separately.

• Basic hobby tools such as a nipper, sanding tools, tweezers, and panel liner are recommended.

DeToyz Note

RG Destiny Gundam remains appealing because it fits a large weapon loadout and detailed mechanical finish into a compact 1/144 model. The Arondight sword, long-range cannon, Beam Boomerangs, and two shield styles give the kit several distinct display options rather than only one standard pose.

As an earlier Real Grade release, its Advanced MS Joint construction needs more careful handling than some newer RG kits. Taking time during assembly, avoiding unnecessary stress on the joints, and using a display base will make the finished model easier to manage.

The standard kit does not include the transparent Wings of Light, but it still has a strong silhouette through the opening backpack wings. A clean build with panel lining and carefully applied Realistic Decals already produces a detailed SEED DESTINY display piece.
