Overview

MG 1/100 MS-07B Gouf Ver.2.0 is a Master Grade Gunpla model kit of Ramba Ral’s iconic blue mobile suit from the original Mobile Suit Gundam series.

Developed as an improved successor to the MS-06J Zaku II Ground Type, the Gouf was designed specifically for terrestrial combat and close-range engagements. Its heavy blue armor, spiked shoulders, Heat Rod, Heat Saber and five-barrel Finger Vulcan give it a very different fighting identity from a standard Zaku.

The Ver.2.0 model incorporates part of the MG Zaku II Ver.2.0 internal structure to reflect that mechanical lineage. Bandai combines the detailed inner frame with linked armor movement, improved power-pipe construction, an opening cockpit and specialized Gouf weapons to create a definitive 1/100 representation of Ramba Ral’s mobile suit.

• The power pipes use multiple sections and should be assembled patiently.

MG Gouf Ver.2.0 is one of the strongest classic Zeon Master Grade kits because its mechanical design and model engineering support the same idea: the Gouf is a specialized ground-combat development of the Zaku II.

The shared Ver.2.0 frame gives it a familiar mechanical foundation, but the armor, weapons and silhouette create a very different display presence. The linked skirt movement is especially useful because the Gouf looks best in low, aggressive stances rather than standing completely upright.

The Heat Rod is the feature that gives this kit the most personality. Its ball-jointed segments can form wide curves, forward strikes and coiled poses while holding the chosen shape. Combined with the Heat Saber, shield and Finger Vulcan, the kit has enough equipment for several distinctly different displays.

The opening cockpit and three character figures also make it suitable for more than a standard shelf pose. Ramba Ral and Crowley Hamon can be used in a small ground-force or maintenance scene, particularly when the Gouf is displayed beside MG Zaku II Ver.2.0 kits.

For builders who prefer the original television design over the later Gouf Custom, this remains the definitive Master Grade version of Ramba Ral’s blue mobile suit.
