Overview

HGUC 1/144 Nightingale brings Char Aznable’s massive MSN-04II mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack – Beltorchika’s Children into the High Grade Universal Century lineup.

Despite its 1/144 scale, Nightingale is far larger than a typical HGUC kit. The completed model measures approximately 400mm across and 211mm high, giving it mobile-armor-class shelf presence and making it a substantial building and display project.

The kit recreates Nightingale’s distinctive wide silhouette, funnel binders, propellant tanks, hidden front-skirt arms, abdominal Mega Particle Cannon, landing gear, and heavy weapon equipment. It is designed for builders who want a large Char-themed centerpiece with strong mechanical detail and multiple display gimmicks.

Things to Note

• This is a plastic model kit and requires assembly.
• Although classified as a 1/144 HGUC kit, Nightingale is much larger than a normal High Grade model.
• The completed kit measures approximately 400mm wide, so please prepare sufficient display space.
• The box and parcel are also considerably larger than those of a standard HG kit.
• International shipping may cost more because of the product’s box size and volumetric weight.
• Product images may show a painted, panel-lined, or professionally finished sample.
• Basic hobby tools such as nipper, sanding tools, tweezers, and panel liner are recommended.
• Painting is not required, but panel lining, stickers, detail painting, and top coat can improve the final display.
• The large binders, tanks, rifle, landing gear, and smaller movable parts should be handled carefully during posing.
• An Action Base is not necessary for normal standing display, but may be useful depending on your preferred setup and available support.

DeToyz Note

HGUC Nightingale is not a normal High Grade build. Its 1/144 label can be misleading because the completed model is closer to a centerpiece project, with a width of around 40cm and a much larger box than most HGUC kits.

The main appeal is its presence. The broad funnel binders, long propellant tanks, heavy rifle, hidden arms, and curved red armor make it immediately recognizable as one of Char’s most imposing mobile suits.

A straight build already looks impressive because of its size and color separation. Builders who add panel lining, careful metallic detailing, markings, and a matte or semi-gloss finish can bring out even more of the layered mechanical detail. It is especially suitable as a display partner for RG Hi-ν Gundam, but make sure you have enough shelf space before starting the build.
