Overview

HGCE 1/144 Destiny Gundam brings Shinn Asuka’s ZGMF-X42S mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY into the modern High Grade Cosmic Era lineup.

This kit combines Destiny Gundam’s distinctive winged silhouette with an extensive selection of melee, ranged, and effect parts. Its internal articulation is designed to support the mobile suit’s dramatic forward-leaning attacks, wide sword swings, airborne poses, and signature Palma Fiocina finishing move.

Clear Wings of Light are included in the standard box, giving the completed model strong display presence without requiring a separate effect set. Together with the Arondight Beam Sword, High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannon, Beam Rifle, Shield, Beam Boomerangs, and clear beam effects, the kit offers a wide range of scene and combat display options.

Things to Note

• This is a plastic model kit and requires assembly.
• Clear Wings of Light and Palma Fiocina effects are included with this standard release.
• An Action Base is sold separately and is strongly recommended for airborne poses or displays using the Wings of Light.
• The backpack, wings, cannon, and sword add weight behind the model, so careful balancing is needed for unsupported standing poses.
• Product images may show a painted, panel-lined, stickered, or professionally finished sample.
• Basic hobby tools such as a nipper, sanding tools, tweezers, and panel liner are recommended.
• Painting is not required, but panel lining, small detail painting, and top coat can improve the final appearance.
• Handle the clear effects, Beam Boomerangs, wing joints, and larger weapons carefully during posing.

DeToyz Note

HGCE Destiny Gundam is one of the more complete High Grade packages because the standard kit already includes its signature Wings of Light and Palma Fiocina effects. You do not need a separate expansion set to create the mobile suit’s most recognizable display.

The articulation also suits Destiny Gundam’s fighting style well. The torso can lean forward for aggressive attacks, while the sliding side armor gives the legs more freedom for airborne and wide-stance poses.

For display, an Action Base is worth adding. The large clear wings, Arondight sword, and long-range cannon are much easier to appreciate when the model is lifted into an aerial pose. A careful straight build already looks dramatic, while panel lining and a clean semi-gloss or matte finish can help the red, blue, white, and black armor separation stand out further.
