Overview

RG 1/144 Gundam Epyon brings the distinctive close-combat mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing into the Real Grade lineup with modern articulation, detailed mechanical construction, and a full transformation into MA mode.

Designed around Gundam Epyon’s melee-focused fighting style, the kit includes its large Beam Sword and flexible Heat Rod. A newly developed movable structure allows the model to hold the Beam Sword naturally with both hands, while reinforced hip joints, articulated shoulders, forearm rotation, and flexible torso movement support powerful combat poses.

The RG design also introduces original dragon and pterosaur-inspired details. In MA mode, the horn and mouth sections can move, the transformed neck sections remain articulated, and the wings adjust through linked mechanical movement for a more expressive flight display.

RG Gundam Epyon is a strong example of how modern Real Grade engineering can improve both appearance and posing. The kit does not simply recreate Epyon at a smaller scale; it adds movement around the torso, shoulders, wrists, hips, wings, and transformed neck to make the design feel more expressive.

The two-handed Beam Sword pose is one of its main highlights, while the articulated Heat Rod gives builders plenty of options for curved, extended, or striking displays. Its MA mode also feels more complete because the horn, mouth, neck, and wing sections can be adjusted rather than remaining completely fixed.

This is a more detailed build than a standard HG kit, but it rewards careful assembly. A clean straight build with the included realistic decals already has strong shelf presence, especially when displayed opposite Wing Gundam Zero.
