Overview

HG 1/100 VF-31E Siegfried (Chuck Mustang Use) brings Chuck Mustang’s distinctive variable fighter from Macross Delta into Bandai’s modern HG Macross model kit series.

The VF-31E stands apart from the other Delta Flight aircraft through its large radome equipment and yellow-accented color scheme. Bandai’s Shortcut Change system simplifies the transformation process by using selected replacement parts, allowing the model to switch between Fighter, GERWALK, and Battroid modes while keeping each form stable, well-proportioned, and easy to pose.

Insert-molded parts are used to reproduce complex color separation directly from the runners, while the cockpit, landing gear, mini-gun pods, pilot, rear-seat Walküre member, and standing Reina Prowler figure add further display value.

Chuck Mustang’s VF-31E is one of the most visually distinctive Siegfried variants because of the large radome and yellow markings. It has a noticeably different silhouette from the other Delta Flight machines, especially in Fighter and GERWALK modes.

The Shortcut Change system is also practical for builders who want to enjoy all three forms without repeatedly stressing a complex internal transformation structure. The replacement parts take a little more storage and organisation, but each completed form should feel cleaner and more stable.

The three included figures add useful display options, particularly the rear-seat Walküre figure and standing Reina Prowler. For collectors building the complete Delta Flight lineup, the VF-31E is an important unit rather than simply another color variation.
