Basic Application Guide

1. Cut out one decal at a time, leaving a small border around the printed marking.
2. Place the decal in clean water until it begins to loosen from the backing paper.
3. Move the decal and backing paper close to the required position on the model.
4. Slide the decal gently from the paper onto the surface.
5. Adjust the position with a damp cotton bud, brush, or decal tool.
6. Remove excess water carefully and allow the decal to dry fully.
7. Apply a compatible clear top coat afterward if you want to protect the completed markings.

The VF-31 series relies heavily on aircraft-style graphics and small caution markings, so the decals have a noticeable effect on the finished model. The VF-31E has several broad wing and body surfaces where the extra markings help break up the yellow and white color scheme.

Compared with the standard stickers, water-transfer decals sit closer to the plastic and leave less visible border around the printed design. They take more time to apply, but the result is generally cleaner, especially after a suitable clear coat.
