Overview

HGUC 1/144 MS-05B Zaku I (Black Tri-Stars Type) is a High Grade Universal Century Gunpla kit based on the early Zeon mobile suit used by the famous Black Tri-Stars team from Mobile Suit Variations.

This kit recreates the older MS-05B Zaku I in the Black Tri-Stars’ distinctive dark color scheme, giving it a different presence from the standard green Zaku I. HGUC Zaku I Black Tri-Stars Type is a simple but characterful Zeon kit. The appeal is not modern complexity, but the combination of the old MS-05 design, Black Tri-Stars color scheme, and practical weapon loadout.

Because this is an older HGUC kit, it is best enjoyed as a classic build. The proportions are straightforward, the parts count is manageable, and the included weapons give several display options without making the kit too complicated.

This kit also suits weathering very well. A clean straight build already shows the Black Tri-Stars identity, but a little panel lining, dry brushing, and matte top coat can make the dark armor and early-war Zeon design look much more convincing on display.
