The E30 BMW M3 has a very different character from the modern supercars usually seen in the Speed Champions range. Its compact box-shaped body, squared bonnet and large rear wing give the model an immediately recognisable 1980s touring-car appearance.

The special BMW M-inspired livery also makes this more than a plain road-car replica. It was designed as a 40th-anniversary tribute, so it should appeal to BMW collectors even if they do not normally collect every Speed Champions release.

At 17 cm long, the finished car is compact enough for a desk or display cabinet while still offering enough detail to capture the E30 shape. It should also sit naturally beside other classic-car Speed Champions sets.
