We caught up with Mr Leong Chi Yit, the builder behind the MG Jesta diorama that won 3rd place at the DeToyz Plamo Contest 2025. His build stood out for its realistic battle damage, dramatic posing, and creative use of LEDs to bring the scene to life. Combining strong fundamentals with bold storytelling, Mr Leong delivered a compact yet cinematic display that impressed both judges and visitors alike.

1) Congratulations! How do you feel about winning 3rd place this year?

還有很大的進步空間

There’s still a lot of room for improvement.

2) What was the biggest challenge you faced while working on this kit?

戰損的方面，因為機體顏色很暗，比較難凸顯效果

The battle damage. Because the suit color is very dark, it was harder to make the effects stand out.

3) Did you try any new techniques, tools, or materials for this build?

LED ，wiring

LEDs and wiring.

4) Which part of your entry are you most proud of, and why?

戰損建築物，比之前進步了很多

The battle-damaged building. It’s a big improvement compared to my previous work.

5) Among all the entries this year, was there one that caught your attention or inspired you?

第一名的，手工很精細，分色很好

The champion’s entry — the craftsmanship is very delicate and the color separation is excellent.

6) What motivates you to keep building model kits?

想要製作收藏UC MG系列

I want to build and collect the UC MG series.

7) What advice would you give to newcomers who want to join next year’s contest?

just build it
