A relaxed year-end community meetup at DeToyz — everyone builds the same RX-78-2, but in their own creative way. No judging, no pressure, just pure hobby fun.
Before we wrap up 2025, let’s gather once more — not for a competition, but simply to enjoy building together. This year’s Year-End Chill Meetup is all about creativity, community, and fun. Everyone will start from the same kit — the 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam Workshop Kit ver. — but how you finish it is completely up to you.
We’re not counting seamlines. We’re celebrating creativity.
This is not a contest. We won’t be checking seamlines, nub marks, or giving any scores — we just want to see your ideas. Paint it, weather it, recolor it, pose it, add a base, print your name on it — anything goes, as long as it shows your creativity.

How It Works
- Claim your kit (free for members): Visit DeToyz Shop to claim one RX-78-2 Workshop Kit per member.
- In-store speed build: To claim, please do a quick in-store speed build of the kit before bringing it home.
- Customize at home: Keep it simple and creative — color changes, basic weathering, small add-ons, decals, base, or your name. No pressure ideas welcome.
- Bring it back for the meetup: On 14 December 2025, return with your customized RX-78-2 for a relaxed showcase and hangout.
This is a friendly creative session — there will be no judging, scoring, or “best build” awards. Just build, slowly.
Why We’re Doing This
- Welcome first-time modelers: Make the hobby accessible and unintimidating.
- Share the joy of modeling: Shift from “winning” to simply enjoying the build.
- Close the year with warmth: After big events like GBWC, Mecha Master, and DeToyz Plamo Contest, let’s wind down together.
It’s our way of saying thank you for being part of the DeToyz community throughout 2025 — and to build momentum and connection heading into 2026.
