Thank you to everyone who joined us for the very first DeToyz Modelers’ Meetup in our new store at Kepayang Sentral. The upstairs studio was filled with great conversations, creativity, and a shared love for the hobby.
Big thanks to Mr. Wong and Abang Pyan for sponsoring today’s food and drinks!

We wrapped up our first DeToyz Modelers’ Meetup — a cozy gathering of passionate builders sharing what they love most.
There were top-voted builds, lots of great conversations, and a room full of inspiration. Let’s take a quick look back at what happened.
Read our reflection on why we kept it casual — and what made it special for the builders.
A day of sharing, showcasing, and stories
Nearly 20 builders brought their models—ranging from Gunpla, Sci-fi, Star Wars to LEGO MOCs, clean builds to custom paint jobs. There was no competition, just a friendly space to talk about each other’s work and meet fellow hobbyists.

“My Favorite Model” voting ended in a surprise
Visitors were invited to vote for their favorite model. By the end of the event, we had an unexpected result—three different builds received the exact same highest vote count.

(Two more voters came in after I took 👆🏻 photo — they voted for #02 and #08.)
Instead of picking just one, we decided to feature all three. Each creator gave us a short interview during the event, and we’ll be sharing their stories on our DeToyz Notes blog—one each day for the next three days.

We interviewed the creator behind “Chuchu & Demi Trooper” for our first Creator Showcase!

We interviewed the creator behind “PG Astray Red Frame Kai” for our Creator Showcase!

We interviewed the creator behind “AT-ST 301st Recon Division” for our Creator Showcase!
Coming up next on DeToyz Notes
Starting tomorrow, we’ll be publishing the three featured creators’ work and interviews, along with detailed photos of their models. We hope these stories offer inspiration, especially for those who couldn’t attend in person.
Thank you once again
This was our first time trying something like this, and we’re grateful to everyone who came, shared, supported, or simply dropped by to look. We’ll definitely be doing this again, so if you missed it, don’t worry—we’ll see you at the next one.
If you joined us and have thoughts or suggestions about the event—or just want to share how you felt—feel free to leave a comment below. We’d love to hear from you.
