Bandai Gundam Model kit - MG Gundam Barbatos
Overview
MG 1/100 Gundam Barbatos (4th Form) brings the main unit from Iron-Blooded Orphans into the Master Grade lineup with a strong focus on its inner frame structure.
At the core of the kit is the fully recreated Gundam Frame, including the Ahab Reactor and internal mechanical details. The frame is not just for structure — it is designed to work together with the outer armor and cylinders, creating a layered build with visible mechanical depth.
The armor color separation is achieved through molded parts, allowing a clean finish straight out of the box. The use of silver-plated parts on the cylinders enhances the mechanical look, especially during articulation.
The chest features a rotating Ahab Reactor gimmick, while multiple moving axes across the torso and limbs allow the frame, pistons, and armor to move in sync. This gives the kit a more dynamic and natural posing ability.
Additional gimmicks include extendable knee mechanisms for wider articulation, movable shoulder cylinders, and a flexible waist structure that supports the signature forward-leaning stance of Barbatos.
Weapons such as the mace and smoothbore gun include functional sliding and folding mechanisms for added playability.

Personal Note (From Ah Chong)
Barbatos MG is one of those kits where the internal frame is just as important as the outer look.
You can actually feel the mechanics when posing it — the pistons and frame moving together make a big difference compared to older MG kits.
It’s not just about how it looks, but how it moves. If you enjoy mechanical detail, this is a very satisfying build.
